MONEY TALKS
By Ramon M. Gutierrez

It is always said that the government has no money. This is false.
We pay our taxes. The government collects it. It has money to use for basic services.
There may not be enough money to meet all the people's needs and concerns. But there is money.
Whatever money there is, it should be spent for the people's bebefit. It is their money.
The problem is not that there is not enough money and basic services are not addressed The problem is the little money there is in the coffers go to corruption, to programs that do not benefit the poor, and to wasteful expenditures.
And so when the little man goes to the government for help, officilas say there is no money for that.
And no one can dispute that. The answer is final. There is no money.
Do you believe that? Of course you don't. But you go home with nothing. That is not the government you expect to have. But  it happens that many of the people who run the government think that the taxes we pay and they collect are theirs to enjoy. Goodbye!
