Tourist nowadays, is intelligent travellers, as Fergus Tyler Merclaran said, a Canadian Cultural Management Specialist put it, "many are not so much after luxury resorts or beaches, they tend to look a new one...more adventurous, calm and peaceful friendly environment."Romblon Province is to be considered as a tourist distination or area", according to Miss Pearl Harder, Romblon Province Tourism Council Officer, who was appointed by the Honorable Governor Eleandro Jesus F. Madrona last November 18, 2001, to do a special project report in the province of Romblon and that is to uplift economic standard of living.Moreover, the Romblon Province has numbers of caves, falls, clean rivers, virgin forests, majestic mountains, white beaches that need to be developed, and a friendly people, she added.No wonder why this is the priority project of the present administration under Governor Eleandro Jesus F. Madrona because he is indeed a nature lover and a Man of Action. Soon he will finally begin to make his administration moving faster to this monumental program to make Romblon the next Boracay. The economic condition of our province in this people will improve soon and he will be remembered as 'the father of tourism in the province of Romblon'.***"Many are called but few are chosen to lead"... Sanguniang Bayan Member Rolando Cordova Punzalan, a third timer Sangguniang Bayan Member of Sta. Fe, Romblon had contributed much to the town of Sta. Fe. Resolutions and ordinaces were passed and are now in action.He is the SB Chairman of the Committee on Agriculture and Fisheries only last July 2001.He authored last July 16, 2001 Resolution No. 5 S-2001, resolution requesting NAMRIA for the delineation of the Municipal waters of Sta. Fe, Romblon.Resolution No. 31 a Resolution recommending to Department of Agriculture to declare a portion of the Municipal waters of the Municipality of Sta. Fe as a Fishery reserve which he also authored last October 22,2001.With the coordination with other offices and thru the effort of the Municipal Mayor, Hon. Asher C. Visca, MLGOO Mr. Generoso Fernando and MAO-OIC Eng'r Charlie Andres Jr.. conducted barangay assembly meeting in every barangay explaining R.A. 850 (Fisheries Act).MAO is in the process of registering all the fisherfolks of this municipality pursuant to R.A. 8550.SBM Punzalan in his last term would like to inform his fellow kasimanwa from Sta. Fe and the people of Romblon that "we must be more vigilant to protect and save whatever we have left for our seas and the environment for the sake of the next generations to come".***
Last April 26, 2002 the grandest and the first beauty pageant was held in the town of Looc in Romblon known to as the Miss Romblon Beauty Pageant, and it was sponsored by the multi-group companies of MMG headed by its Chairman Eng'r Ervin Yap-Mateo. Yours truly was the anchor-woman of this unforgettable event in Romblon together with two(2) emcees from the movie industry, actress Lara Morena and actor Alvin Anson plus our dear voice-over man Rod. This pageant will not be successful without the undying help of the pageant organizer Mr. Rams Andrade who personally invited our very own Mutya ng Pilipinas-World 1988 Miss Dana Mayor-Narvadez from San Fernando, Romblon and the Mutya ng Pilipinas Project Coordinator Miss Vicky Bugayong.
